After more than 5 years of suspension, the direct flight connecting the technology and financial center of Shenzhen (China) with Da Nang is back in operation, opening up new opportunities to attract tourists and trade.
More than 170 passengers on China Southern Airlines flight CZ8155 landed at Da Nang airport on the evening of October 2, welcomed by the city’s leaders. This event officially resumed the direct flight from Shenzhen (China) to Da Nang after many years of interruption.

Upon landing, passengers were warmly welcomed with traditional art performances and souvenirs typical of Da Nang.
Ms. Truong Thi Hong Hanh, Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Da Nang City, said that China has always been a key market, holding the second position in the number of international visitors to the city for many years. Before the pandemic, Da Nang had 5 regular routes and 29 charter flights from China.
“The return of China Southern not only strengthens tourism and trade connections but also opens up expectations for strong growth in the number of Chinese visitors to Da Nang in the coming time,” Ms. Hanh said.
Regarding the operation plan, a representative of China Southern Airlines said the airline plans to operate 6 round-trip flights in October on October 2, 6, 10, 14, 18 and 22.
This event was assessed by Mr. Ho The Anh, General Director of AHT Company (the terminal operator), as “a positive signal that has been expected for 5 years and 8 months”. He affirmed that this is the result of the airline’s perseverance and trust in Da Nang, and committed that AHT will provide high-quality infrastructure and ground services to ensure smooth operations.
According to statistics, in the first 8 months of 2025, Da Nang welcomed about 5 million international visitors, an increase of 23.4% over the same period in 2024. The strong recovery of traditional markets, including China, has contributed significantly to this result. The resumption of direct flights is expected to continue to promote the number of visitors from the billion-people market to grow more strongly in the final months of the year.
